SynopsisGuruguru Medaman A necklace made from 108 crystal balls was passed down in the Kosaka family for generations. It had originally been given to them by a ghost. The necklace had attracted beings that are like ghost souls.Three centuries later、 Mami Kosaka、 a kind-hearted and intelligent descendant、 happens to find the necklace and takes it away. Then、 Medaman、 a strange looking child ghost、 appears before Mami with his friends to retrieve the crystal necklace. However、 the necklace possesses mystical powers. Mami chants the spell written on the crystals、 causing Medaman to freeze on the spot. She escapes while Medaman is unable to move. When running away、 Mami runs out onto the road and is almost run over by a truck. The pursuing Medeman saves Mami from the truck at the last second. Then、 a “god” appears from within the crystal balls and seizes them from Medaman. The god promises that one of the crystal balls will be returned to Medaman each time he does a good deed and helps someone、 as he did when saving Mami earlier.Medaman and his team of child ghost friends go out to find what they can do. Together with Mami、 they go on a quest to help others、 which is filled with mysterious events.Guruguru Medaman aired on Tokyo Channel 12 (current TV Tokyo) from July 1976 to January 1977. It is a tokusatsu comedy series produced by Toei. Hideo Azuma created the illustrations、 while Shunichi Yukimuro、 a famous screenwriter for children’s shows、 did the screenplay.
