SynopsisIgano Kabamaru Kabamaru Igano was raised as a ninja in the deep mountains by his grandfather、 Saizo Igano. However、 after the death of Saizo、 his only blood relative、 Kabamaru decides to live with the Okubo family in accordance with the will of his grandfather. Ran Okubo once fell in love with Saizo. She welcomes Kabamaru、 who looks just like Saizo when he was young、 and sends him to Kingyoku School、 a prestigious high school in Tokyo that she runs.After leaving the mountains where he trained for many years、 Kabamaru falls in love at first sight with Ran’s granddaughter、 Mai. Meanwhile、 Kabamaru’s physical abilities catch the eyes of Shizune Mejiro、 the student council president and secret authority of Kingyoku School、 who begins conniving a way to take advantage of his ninja skills.Igano Kabamaru portrays the exciting school life of Kabamaru--featuring love、 rivalry、 and much more--with a touch of comedy. Produced by Group TAC、 the series aired on the Nippon Television network from October 20、 1983 to March 29、 1984. It is based on the manga series Igano Kabamaru by Yu Azuki. The manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret from 1979 to 1981. Later、 a sequel titled Igano Kokabamaru、 featuring the son of Kabamaru and Mai、 was published on an ad-hoc basis in Shueisha’s YOU. Furthermore、 serialization of Igano Kabamaru Sorikara began in 2015.
