| Synopsis | Graduation Graduation is a character development simulation game that was developed by HEADROOM and released by Japan Home Video on June 25、 1992. It was later adapted into various formats、 such as a drama CD series、 animation、 and light novel. The anime adaptation was released in 1995、 three years after the game. In the episode titled “Itsumademo Issho ni Iraretara” (if only we could be together forever)、 Reiko Takagi、 Kiyomi Arai、 Mami Shimura、 Mika Kato、 and Shizuka Nakamoto、 who are seniors at Seika Girls’ High School、 decide to go on a graduation trip to a hot spring inn deep in the mountains. Each of the girls heads to the destination by motorbike、 car、 or train. However、 Mami、 who was supposed to have got on the train、 goes missing during the ride. Worried、 the other four girls go out to find Mami. It turns out that she got off along the way to check out a bento shop at the station、 and then fell asleep on a nearby bench. The station is slated to become an unmanned station following the scheduled retirement of its stationmaster that year. The station building is decorated with many photos and letters full of memories、 and Mami herself secretly decides to send a letter to the stationmaster as well. The episode “Sorezore no Ashita” (the tomorrow of each) revolves around the anxiety about the future that the girls feel、 especially that ofReiko、 who is from a prestigious family. The drama CD、 animation、 and light novel adaptations were written by Mami Watanabe、 who wrote the screenplay for Record of Lodoss War. The completely original story focuses on five adolescent girls、 fully utilizing the game setting.A series titled Seira Victory was later produced、 in which the five girls graduate from high school and approach the next stage in life、 marriage、 and play important roles in a sci-fi world of parallel dimensions. |
