| Synopsis | Tsuide ni TonchinkanTonchinkan is a gang of four phantom thieves who always notify the victim before stealing things、 and the gang comes to a town called Reinbou.Inspector Akuzo Dokuoni of the Great Japan Police Station has been receiving many damage reports、 but he is perplexed by the gang’s modus operandi. This is because、 almost disappointingly、 the goods stolen are worthless or worth very little. For instance、 the damage could be 8673 yen one day and 287 yen another day.One of the excuses for this among the gang members is、 “You are a thief if you steal expensive goods.” What is more、 they have made it a rule to help people.Tonchinkan’s leader is Nukesaku Aida、 aka Aho (meaning “fool”)、 a teacher at Reinbou Junior High School. The other members are students that he teaches: Kung fu master Tonpu Chun、 Chinpei Hatsuyama、 a super genius with an IQ of 200、 and Kanko Shirai、 a pretty girl with psychic powers. The gang’s targets are always worthless junk、 and the members keep doing stupid things. Even the cops going after them are confused by the gang’s utterly ridiculous behavior. The story revolves around thieves who engage in the ultimate nonsensical gags.Tsuide ni Tonchinkan was created by Studio Comet、 airing on the Fuji TV network from 1987 to 1988.It is based on a gag manga by manga artist Koichi Endo、 known for works such as Shinigami-kun、 that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1985 to 1989. |
