SynopsisKyoshin Gogu、 Giant GorgThe story starts on Austral、 an island located in two thousand kilometers southeast of the Samoa Islands.Intending to reveal the secret of this island that has disappeared from the map、 Yuu Tagami、 son of the archaeologist Dr. Tagami、 finds a clue in his father’s will and visits Dr. Wave in New York、 an old friend of his father.Although Yuu is able to meet Wave、 they are attacked by the multinational corporation GAIL. Yuu、 Wave、 and his sister Doris seek help from the “Captain、” an acquaintance of Wave、 and are somehow able to escape. After overcoming many difficulties、 Yuu and the others eventually get to Austral Island. But they are suddenly attacked by a huge、 mysterious monster. Then、 the giant blue robot Gorg comes and saves them from peril.Although Yuu has never met Gorg before、 the robot makes him feel a sense of nostalgia、 and he decides to follow Gorg. Then they descend into the ruins of an alien civilization hidden deep underground and encounter the alien Manon、 who has awoken from a thirty thousand year slumber.In the process of tracing the history of the aliens who created Gorg、 Yuu learns that he is descended from both an alien companion of Manon and a human being. Yuu also learns the real reason why he met Gorg and starts developing a true bond with the robot.Finally、 the aliens place the future in the hands of Yuu and his companions—a future where aliens and humans can live in harmony.Then、 in order to prevent any futile conflicts between them and humanity from occurring、 the aliens conceal their civilization and the island in the deep ocean. Gorg heads to the sinking island、 promising Yuu that they will meet again.Yuu decides to live with his friends、 reinforced by the memory of the days he spent with the mighty but gentle giant.
