Synopsis | Chibi Maruko-chanIs a comedy anime program in which each episode is a complete story illustrating everyday life with a focus on the character、 Chibi Maruko、 and her family and friends、 based on the third grade girlhood days of the original author、 Momoko Sakura、 who lived in Shimizu City、 Shizuoka Prefecture.Maruko’s family comprises six people、 her grandfather、 grandmother、 father、 mother and her elder sister. Daily episodes that everyone experienced if they were an elementary school student at that time、 and cute friendship cameos with a close friend、 Tama-chan、 abound. Even though the story is set in a different era、 many episodes are essay-type stories that will make contemporary families nod affirmatively. What is noteworthy is that the times are beautifully reflected、 such as how much children and young people of that time were taken with the world of TV、 and which programs were popular. Specifically、 since her elder sister is a fan of Hideki Saijo、 he is actually illustrated as an anime character in the series. That is unusual for conventional animation. The story is set in Shimizu City in 1974. Many explanations、 mainly as monologues by the original author、 appear in the original comic、 and these monologues are narrated by an actor in the anime version. It is also known fondly among Japanese families as an anime about the nation、 one with the scent of Showa in the Heisei era. Famous musicians、 such as the Southern All Stars、 Hideki Saijo、 B.B. Queens、 and Kinki Kids、 participated in the theme songs、 which are sung according to the times. The program continues to be broadcast、 even after the original author、 Momoko Sakura、 passed away on August 15、 2018. |
