SynopsisTanoshii Mumin Ikka、 Delightful Moomin Family Moomin is a kind Moomintroll boy who is full of curiosity、 and he lives in Moominvalley with his father Moominpappa and mother Moominmamma. The three awaken from hibernation、 and Moomin is reunited with his girlfriend Floren、 Snorkmaiden、 and her elder brother Snork who have also awaken from hibernation、 Little My、 a stubborn and sharp-tongued Mymble、 Sniff、 a boy who looks like a kangaroo、 Snufkin、 a traveler who loves freedom and music、 and other friends.One day、 Moomin、 Snufkin、 and the others go to the mountains to play、 where under a rock they find a magic hat that has the power to transform anything. The subsequent story is full of elements of fantasy. For example、 Moomin and his friends witness the magical powers of the hat、 and Moominmamma inadvertently changes the surroundings of her house into a jungle. Episodes 1 to 8 of the animation series were based on the same-titled original novel、 whereas the subsequent episodes were based on other original novels and comic versions.The story revolves around the daily interaction between the Moomins and their strange neighbors. However、 since Moominvalley is close to the sea、 the Moomins sometimes come across pirates、 travelers、 and mysterious objects washed to the shore. While living a peaceful life in Moominvalley、 the Moomins also enjoy encountering mysterious people and objects and sometimes go on adventures.The first season of the series consisted of 78 episodes. The series was renamed Delightful Moomin Family: Adventure Diary、 and the second season continued up to episode 104 under a different production team.In 2019、 a new puppet animation version was released worldwide.
