Synopsis
TerrahawksIn a future of advanced technology, the NASA Mars base is utterly destroyed by an attack from an unidentified spacecraft.Terrahawks, the Earth Defense Force base in the UK, recognizes the imminent threat through a signal from the Mars base. To cope with this situation, it forms a specialized task force under the command of Dr. Ninestein, a human created through Earth’s cloning technology. The team is an elite unit composed of fellow clones: Mary, Hiro, Kate, and Hawkeye. They depart for Mars to investigate the planet. However, waiting for them was Zelda, an android belonging to a fleet of spacecraft with highly advanced technology. To counter their invasion, the team utilizes a wide variety of specialized equipment and mechanical combat gears developed with Earth’s most cutting-edge science, as well as the spherical robots Zeroids, to successfully rescue Dr. Ninestein abducted by Zelda.Zelda, recognizing that they had underestimated humanity too much, prepares new strategies to resume their invasion of Earth. To protect mankind from this threat, the team of Terrahawks, along with the Zeroids, continue a battle against the fleet of spacecrafts led by Zelda. This series is a tokusatsu (special effects) puppet play by Anderson Burr Pictures founded by Gerry Anderson, who created famous shows like Thunderbirds in the U.K. It initially aired in the U.K. between 1983 and 1986, and its broadcast in Japan started in 1985 on the NHK network.
