Synopsis

RanpoRanpo is one of the best students in his junior high school. One day, he encounters a mysterious UFO and is taken inside it. This incident causes Ranpo to completely lose his former honor student character. He becomes a mischievous boy with mysterious powers. Those powers include being able to fly freely in the sky, as well as superhuman strength, ultra high speed, and other physical abilities. On top of that, he can breathe fire.Ranpo’s personality changes dramatically; he is no longer the honor student that he used to be. Rather than using his powers for world peace, he chaotically uses them to pursue things that amuse him. This earns him the nickname “Warp Boy.”Ranpo’s girlfriend, Mutsumi, and his other classmates are shocked by his behavior, but he keeps on buzzing around wherever he wishes together with his partner Chutaro, a genius mouse that can understand human speech and boasts an 1200 IQ, and other strange non-human companions, constantly causing trouble to those in his school and town.Ranpo is a television anime series created by Tsuchida Production and aired on the Fuji TV network. It is based on a hilarious gag manga by Masatoshi Uchizaki that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion from 1978 to 1987.A new one-shot version was published in the 40th anniversary edition of Weekly Shonen Champion in 2009, which garnered attention.
