| Synopsis | Ninja Hattori-kun + Ninja Kaiju Jippo (Ninja Boy Hattori-kun + Ninja Monster Jippo)In the Showa era、 young apprentice ninja in Iga spent their days training rigorously at a ninja school. Hattori-kun、 who had been aiming to become a great ninja、 graduated from the school and descended from the mountains to the city where many people lived. Growing up in the wilderness、 he initially did not know how to live the urban daily life、 causing peculiar commotions. However、 armed with his kind-hearted but too trusting nature and an extraordinary sense of justice、 he begins to help those in trouble. At one point、 he returns to the deep mountains in order to retrain so that he can become a greater ninja. But one day、 Zippo、 a ninja kaiju (monster)、 appears from within a mysterious shooting star、 which brings Hattori-kun back to the city once again. Later、 after an unexpected turn of events、 he lives rent-free with the Fujino Family、 a salaried worker’s household. Teaming up with Zippo、 Hattori-kun begins his new training in the big city to rescue those in trouble every day. Produced by Toei Tokyo Studios、 this work is the sequel to the live-action drama series Ninja Hattori-kun that had aired since 1966. It aired from August 1967 to January 1968 on the NET network (currently TV Asahi)、 featuring increased tokusatsu (special effects) elements. It was based on a ninja-themed comedy manga by Fujiko Fujio Ⓐ、 the renowned creator of such big hits as Kaibutsu-kun (The Monster Kid) and Obake no Q-Taro (Q-Taro the Ghost). The comedy manga was serialized in the monthly magazine Shonen from November 1964 to February 1968. Notably、 the role of Takane Fujino、 the eldest daughter of the Fujino family、 was played by actress Keiko Matsuzaka、 who was only 16 years old at the time. |
