Synopsis | Kamen Raida、 Kamen Rider Takeshi Hongo、 a brilliant scientist with an IQ of 600 and a professional motorcycle racer、 is kidnapped by the evil secret society Shocker、 which noticed his advanced abilities. Shocker transforms Takeshi into a being with the abilities of a grasshopper、 but he is rescued by Dr. Midorikawa before his brain is altered. He then decides to uses his newly acquired powers for the sake of justice、 transforms into Kamen Rider riding his customized motorcycle、 the Cyclone、 and takes on the Shocker troops. In order to defeat the Kamen Rider、 Shocker kidnaps Hayato Ichimonji、 a promising candidate for a new Kamen Rider、 and performs surgery to turn him into a cyborg、 but he is rescued by Hongo. When Hongo learns that the threat of Shocker has spread outside of Japan、 he leaves the fight in Japan to Ichimonji、 who shares his ambitions、 and travels overseas. Ichimonji then remains in Japan as another Kamen Rider to protect people from the threat of Shocker. Ichimonji、 who had been defending Japan、 joins up with Hongo、 who had been fighting overseas、 and together they take on the final battle against Shocker.Based on the original story by Shotaro Ishinomori and produced by Toei、 this tokusatsu superhero show was broadcast from April 1971 to February 1973 on the TV Asahi network. Around the same time、 Calbee released snacks with Kamen Rider cards as a special prize、 which became immensely popular among children. Hiroshi Fujioka、 the actor who played Takeshi Hongo、 also appeared in the Heisei and Reiwa series beginning in 2015、 and again played the lead role of Takeshi Hongo in the movie Kamen Rider 1. In the movie Kamen Rider: Beyond Generations、 Maito Fujioka、 actor and son of Hiroshi Fujioka、 played the role of Takeshi Hongo、 which attracted a great deal of attention. |
