SynopsisUrutoraman Taro、 Ultraman TaroKotaro Higashi、 a young man who had traveled around the world dreaming of becoming a boxer、 returns to Japan just as the monster Oil Drinker appears in the port、 and he witnesses a battle between the monster and the space science guard ZAT. Then、 a flower bulb that Kotaro brought back from abroad starts to grow rapidly and becomes the monster Astromons、 which then rampages through the city. Unable to stand idly by and watch the situation unfold、 Kotaro cooperates with ZAT and together they fight off the monsters. Later、 Kotaro joins ZAT. He confronts monsters and suffers a serious injury. In order to save Kotaro、 the five Ultra Brothers and Mother of Ultra、 who have been sent from Nebula M78 and saved Earth from the threat of monsters、 lead Kotaro to the Land of Light、 where he survives by being merged with a new Ultraman、 Taro. Kotaro transforms into Ultraman Taro with the Ultra Badge given to him by Mother of Ultra、 and fights to protect Earth from the threats of monsters and aliens.This tokusatsu superhero show was produced by Tsuburaya Productions and broadcast from April 1973 to April 1974 on the TBS network. Peggy Hayama voiced Mother of Ultra and portrayed her human form. After the conclusion of the series、 Taro appears as the father of Ultraman Taiga、 the star of the first Ultraman series in the Reiwa era、 which also depicts events from Taro’s own past. Saburo Shinoda、 who played the protagonist Kotaro Higashi、 appeared in various TV shows after his role in Ultraman Taro. He also appeared in the Godzilla series、 another tokusatsu film、 and is still actively working today、 having appeared in various productions、 including a long-running historical drama series on NHK.
