| Synopsis | Kamen Raida Burakku、 Masked Rider BlackThe story is set in the world threatened by the criminal cult group Gorgom consisting of uncanny monsters. Kohtaro Minami、 a college student whose parents passed away when he was three years old、 was fostered by Soichiro Akizuki. Kohtaro and Soichiro’s son Nobuhiko grew up together like real brothers、 but on their 19th birthday、 they are kidnapped by Gorgom.They get involved in a fight to decide the next Creation King of Gorgom. By being embedded with a Kingstone in their bodies、 they are modified into a grasshopper-like cyborg as the candidate for the Creation King. Kohtaro、 embedded with the Stone of Sun、 is given the name Black Sun、 and Nobuhiko、 embedded with the Stone of Moon、 becomes Shadow Moon. Kohtaro escapes from Gorgom、 but his foster father gets killed. Knowing he was murdered、 Kohtaro is determined to become the fighter for justice、 Masked Rider Black、 using the Stone of Sun’s power inside his body. He then fights against the evil Gorgom army and his nemesis Shadow Moon、 or the Creation King.This drama television series was created by Toei and aired on the Tokyo Broadcasting System network from 1987 to 1988 as a tokusatsu (meaning a live-action drama using many special effects) superhero-drama intended for children. Based on a story written by manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori、 this drama series was created by focusing on Masked Rider Zero、 one version of the Masked Rider series envisioned by Ishinomori earlier、 with the concept of returning to the original Masked Rider. In addition、 the manga adaptation Masked Rider Black by Ishinomori ran in Weekly Shonen Sunday during the same period as broadcasting. This manga series has a dark and serious touch that is no longer intended for children. In 2021、 it was announced that the remake version Masked Rider Black Sun would be produced to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the birth of the Masked Rider series. |
