| Synopsis | Nigeru wa Haji daga Yaku ni Tatsu、 The Full-Time Wife Escapist The protagonist、 Mikuri Moriyama、 works as a temp but her contract is suddenly terminated. Around the same time、 her father introduces her to Hiramasa Tsuzaki、 her father’s subordinate、 and she takes on a weekly housekeeping service at his home. A self-proclaimed “professional bachelor、” Tsuzaki does not communicate well with others、 but he comes to admire Mikuri’s kindness and attitude. When Mikuri’s parents decide to move to the countryside upon their retirement、 Mikuri、 who wishes to maintain the status quo、 proposes a contractual marriage to Tsuzaki on the premise that she would be employed as a live-in housekeeper. With their mutual consent、 the two begin living together under the guise of a de facto marriage but later find themselves gradually becoming attracted to each other.The original manga by Tsunami Umino was serialized in the manga magazine Kiss from 2012 to 2017 and won the 39th Kodansha Manga Awards in the shoujo category in 2015. Due to a resurgence in its popularity、 the manga was serialized for a short period of time from 2019 to 2020、 and a TV series was broadcast from October to December 2016 on TBS TV’s Tuesday Drama slot. A star-studded cast、 including Yui Aragaki as Mikuri Moriyama and Gen Hoshino as Hiramasa Tsuzaki、 garnered attention and the final episode obtained a rating of over 20%、 a first for a Tuesday drama. The theme song Koi was performed by Gen Hoshino、 and the cast danced to the song in the ending、 which ignited the popularity of the drama. The dance performed was called “Koi Dance、” which became so popular that it became a social phenomenon. The song was selected as one of the songs competed at the 67th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen and as the song played during the entrance of players at the 89th National High School Baseball Tournament. |
