SynopsisKuitanLocated in Yokohama’s warehouse district、 the Holmes Agency is an investigation firm that is on the brink of going bust. The firm has been barely managing to survive thanks to the trainee detective Ryosuke Noda and his assistant Kyoko Izumi、 but business keeps getting worse. Amid these financial difficulties、 the agency’s owner informs the employees that a man called Seiya Takano will be joining them. He is a gluttonous but top-notch detective nicknamed Kuitan. Initially、 Ryosuke and Kyoko are suspicious about this fishy man. But once they see him using his outstanding deductive powers to solve cases involving food and get to know his humorous personality、 they gradually begin to trust him. The team tackles various cases together with a new member、 Hajime Kaneda、 a boy in blue clothes wearing a red bowtie who dreams to be like Seiya. Although the team attracts the antipathy of a woman police inspector named Momo Ogata、 they also work with the police. The members of the investigation agency encounter a variety of bizarre cases related to food.Kuitan is a detective series based on the theme of food. It aired on the Nippon Television network from January to March 2006 on Saturdays. It is based on a manga by Daisuke Terasawa、 the creator of Mister Ajikko、 that was serialized in the seinen manga magazine Evening from 2002 to 2009.
