SynopsisAries no Otome-tachi The heroine、 Emiko Kubo、 is a member of the drama club at Gyosei High School、 which is a prestigious private school. She is in love with Takashi Isozaki、 the student council president and head of the equestrian club. Takashi frequently gets into disputes with Tsukasa Yuuki、 the leader of a delinquent group. Then、 a girl named Kaoru Mizuho (Romi Mizuho in the original manga series) transfers to Gyosei High School. She is a returnee student from Paris. Kaoru’s attracts attention from others at school due to her unyielding spirit. Emiko is one of them: she develops a strong admiration for Kaoru. The two are both Aries、 born nearly a year apart. It is later revealed that they are half sisters from the same father. Kaori falls in love with Tsukasa、 Emiko with Takashi. However、 Tsukasa and Takashi are later forced to quit school due to various circumstances、 each of them facing a difficult situation. Out of their devotion to the two boys、 Kaori and Emiko decide to quit school too、 determined to stay by their side despite the hardships. Eventually、 the half sisters are each united with the one they love. The story revolves around the complex and diverse forms of love that develop among the four main characters and their respective families.The TV series is based on the manga Aries no Otome-tachi by Michiko Satonaka、 which was serialized in Kodansha’s Shojo Friend from 1973 to 1975. The TV series starred Yoko Minamino as Kaoru Mizuho and Shiori Sakura as Emiko Kubo. As a TV series produced by Daiei TV-Film、 it ran from April 8 to September 23、 1987 on the Fuji TV network. This was the last work to be directed by Koichi Takemoto、 who created pilots for the Kamen Rider series and Super Sentai series for many years.
