Synopsis | Rumic Theater This is an animation TV series based on the manga series Rumic Theater、 made up of standalone episodes. The first season is titled “Rumic Theater、” and the second season “Rumic Theater: Mermaid Forest.” The first season revolves around strange and mildly horror events that lurk in everyday life. The animation series features 13 episodes inspired by standalone stories from the manga series. The characters and stories of individual episodes are unrelated. Some episodes feature characters that only appear in different stories in the manga version.Episode 1、 “The Tragedy of P、” revolves around the Kagas、 who live in a housing complex. One day、 Mr. Kaga、 who works for a trading company、 brings home a penguin that one of his trading partners keeps. Since they are not allowed to keep pets、 Mrs. Kaga has to look after the penguin while keeping it out of sight、 but a dispute unfolds with residents who are against keeping pets. In Episode 2、 “The Merchant of Romance、” Yukari、 who runs a wedding hall called Roman Kaikan、 receives a visit from an elderly couple from the United States who say that Yukari’s father was very kind to them. As the couple have never held a wedding、 they ask Yukari if they can hold one at Roman Kaikan. Each story in the manga series was released separately in Shogakukan’s Big Comic starting in 1987. Kappei Yamaguchi、 Megumi Hayashibara、 and other voice actors who regularly appeared in Takahashi’s works participated in the TV series.The first season aired in the late-night slot on TV Tokyo from July 5 to September 27、 2003. It was a joint production by TV Tokyo and TMS Entertainment. |
