SynopsisCat Street Keito Aoyama was once known as a child prodigy actress. However、 she was betrayed by Nako Sonoda、 a fellow child actress、 and forced to step down from the stage. Following this traumatic experience、 Keito left the showbiz industry. She stopped going to school due to her mistrust of people.Seven years have passed since Keito became a social recluse. One day、 she happens to meet the principal of the alternative school El Liston and decides to enroll. The school is filled with children who have dropped out from school due to various circumstances. Keito makes her first friend at El Liston、 and also falls in love for the first time. It was during these days that she is reunited with Nako. Nako is stressed about her showbiz career、 and goes missing before the shooting. Keito is asked to appear on screen instead of Nako. Encouraged by her friends、 she successfully plays Nako’s role in a promotional video. She goes on to overcome various new challenges with the help of her friends at El Liston. Keito and her emotionally scarred friends gradually grow together.Cat Street is based on a manga by Yoko Kamio、 who also created Boys Over Flowers. The manga was serialized by Shueisha in the August 2004 to October 2007 issues of Bessatsu Margaret. Cat Street aired on NHK General TV’s Drama 8 show from August 28 to October 2、 2008. The screenplay was done by Taeko Asano、 who later wrote the script for Fuji TV’s Ooku. The main theme is “Planetarium” by Ikimonogakari. It was the group’s first tie up with a TV series.
