Synopsis | HAPPY☆LESSON、 Happy LessonChitose was orphaned at a young age due to the death of his parents. After joining high school and leaving his foster care facility、 Chitose decides to live alone in the house of his childhood. However、 after moving in、 five moms suddenly appear before him. Not only that、 but all of them are teachers at Chitose’s school: Mutsuki Ichimonji、 a Japanese classics teacher who is a little clumsy but has earned the trust of students; Kisaragi Ninomai、 a chemistry teacher who is cool and calm、 and rarely shows her emotions; Yayoi Sanzenin、 a school nurse and miko (priestess) who is very spiritual and desperately wants to do something about Chitose’s ominous appearance; Uzuki Shitenno、 an art teacher who loves manga、 anime、 video games、 and cosplay; and Satsuki Gokajo、 a physical education teacher who is a tomboy with a strong sense of responsibility due to being brought up in a large family. The five teachers each decide to become Chitose’s mom for their own reasons. Chitose’s strange new life with these very different types of moms is far from quiet.Happy Lesson is based on a participatory video game project involving readers launched in Dengeki G’s Magazine (MediaWorks) in 1999. It was adapted into a five-part OVA series by KSS in 2001. Its popularity led to the production of several sequel animated TV series: Happy Lesson: The TV (2002) and Happy Lesson Advance (2003). A second OVA series、 Happy Lesson: The Final、 was released in 2004.Prior to becoming an anime adaptation、 Happy Lesson was adapted into a novel in 2000 and a video game in 2001、 making it one of the largest Dengeki G’s Magazine participatory projects involving readers to be expanded across multiple media formats. |
