| Synopsis | Ai Yori AoshiKaoru Hanabishi was raised as the next head of the Hanabishi Zaibatsu、 but he got tired of the strict and hard environment and left the house to live by himself. One day––when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom––on his way back from university、 he meets a girl dressed in an indigo kimono called Aoi Sakuraba who has lost her way near the station. Kaoru asks if she needs any help and ends up accompanying her to the address of the person she is looking for. Aoi says that the person is her betrothed who she has had a crush on for 18 years、 and that she has come all the way to this town to see him. Kaoru is impressed by Aoi’s devotion、 but the address is vacant and there are no clues as to the whereabouts of Aoi’s betrothed. Kaoru asks Aoi if she has anything that could help them find him; she shows him a picture that she took with the betrothed when she was little. Kaoru is shocked to see that the betrothed in the picture is him when he was little、 and he tells Aoi that he is the one she is looking for. With tears of joy in her eyes、 Aoi straightens herself and tells Kaoru that she has come to be his bride. After the fateful reunion of Kaoru、 who has cut ties with the Hanabishi Zaibatsu、 and Aoi、 who dreams of marrying him regardless of his change in status、 the two face issues related to their respective families and are tossed about by their relationships with those around them. However、 the couple manage to overcome these challenges together and deepen their bond.Ai Yori Aoshi ran in 24 episodes on Fuji TV in 2002. A second season titled Ai Yori Aoshi: Enishi aired in 2003. |
