| Synopsis | Supesu Cobura、 Space Adventure CobraCobra is a space pirate who steals lots of treasure and rare items with style. Although he is usually an innocent、 funny guy who acts like a clown、 he can be a hard-boiled man committed to duty and friendship when he needs to、 boldly facing challenges however difficult they may be. Cobra travels to all corners of space in his high-speed spaceship、 the Turtle、 in search of treasure to steal together with his partner Lady Armaroid、 a female-type armaroid whose body is made from a substance known as “live metal.” However、 he gets exhausted from the endless battle with the evil Pirate Guild that plans to conquer the universe. He erases his own memory and goes into hiding as a regular company worker. One day five years later、 a certain event causes Cobra to regain his memory、 and he resumes the extraordinary life he previously left behind. Cobra’s left arm is an artificial arm equipped with an extremely powerful beam gun known as the Psychogun that can shoot out mental energy. Using the Psychogun、 he destroys many formidable enemies from the past who come in his path、 including assassins sent by the Pirate Guild and other unforgivable villains.Space Adventure Cobra is an anime television series produced by TMS Entertainment、 which ran on Fuji TV from 1982 to 1983. It is based on the popular manga Cobra by Buichi Terasawa—known for Goku Midnight Eye and other works—serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1978 to 1984. A new anime adaptation was released in 2010. The science fiction action manga has gained a loyal fan base over many years. |
