SynopsisFGunma Akagi is the son of Soichiro Akagi、 head of the Akagi Zaibatsu、 and his mistress. After falling out with his father and leaving the house、 Gunma enters the world of Formula 1 racing along with Tamotsu Oishi、 a childhood friend who is good at fiddling with machines.Unyielding and audacious by nature、 Gunma participates in an introductory class、 the F1600 Championship Series. He quickly demonstrates his talent、 rapidly improving as a racing driver.The conflict with members of the Akagi family stand in the way of his life as a racer、 but Gunma finally gains the chance to participate in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship thanks to the support of Tamotsu、 as well as his landlady Sayuri Komori and her niece Junko Komori、 his ex-girlfriend Yuki、 and many others.Gunma is set to compete with the charismatic two-time FJ1600B champion Kazuto Hijiri in the F3 Championship at Suzuka Circuit.Gunma brushes up his skills to beat the genius racer Hijiri.The race with Gunma will be Hijiri’s last、 as he suffers from an incurable disease. The two run neck and neck、 but Gunma comes out victorious. But Hijiri is on his last legs. Hijiri musters his final strength to hand his racing gloves to Gunma、 entrusting together with his dream of becoming an internationally successful racing driver and dies shortly.Following Hijiri’s will、 Gunma enters the international stage aiming to become the world’s fastest racing driver.Produced in 1988、 F is an anime adaptation of a manga series by Noboru Rokuda.
