SynopsisSakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru、 Beautiful Bones: Sakurako’s InvestigationShotaro Tatewaki is a tenth grader living in Asahikawa、 Hokkaido. After meeting Sakurako Kujo、 daughter of a prestigious landowner family in Asahikawa who lives in an old-fashioned white mansion with Ume Sawa、 or Baya-san、 and is obsessed with bones、 he gets involved in Sakurako’s unordinary life.Sakurako is an eccentric person. She does not have a mobile phone in this day and age、 is not the sociable type、 and loves bones more than eating. As an osteologist、 she has extensive knowledge in forensics、 autopsy skills better than those of the police、 and outstanding deductive powers.One day、 Sakurako goes to a beach along with Shotaro where she finds the remains of a human skull. She then begins investigating cases where the sphenoid bone of the human skull has been removed in pursuit of the mysterious perpetrator.Although Shotaro is at the mercy of Sakurako’s reckless behavior、 he gradually learns about her sad past through his work as her assistant.Beautiful Bones: Sakurako’s Investigation was originally released as an online novel on the book posting community website E★Everystar by Shiori Oota in 2012. In the same year、 it won the award for excellence in the mystery section of the E★Everystar Ebook Awards. It was published by Kadokawa Shoten in 2013 and later adapted into a television anime series.Later、 in 2017、 a TV series starring Arisa Mizuki aired on the Fuji TV network.
