| Synopsis | Tonde MonpeMonpe Hanamura is a country girl. Dreaming of becoming a fashion designer、 she moves from Kagoshima to Tokyo. She begins working as a live-in housemaid for the Kano family.Mrs. Kano is a famous fashion designer、 while Mr. Kano is a writer. The two have a baby named Pe-chan.For some reason、 all the housemaids who had come to work at the Kano’s soon ended up quitting. This is because the baby Pe-chan can use supernatural powers. Monpe has to deal with all the trouble Pe-chan causes、 but the baby becomes very attached to her.Pe-chan has the power to animate stuffed toys. The series features unique characters including the stuffed bird Nandaro、 the stuffed dog Chirichiri、 and Mrs. Kamata who lives next door、 and Monpe lives a very busy、 turbulent life.This animation for girls depicts Monpe aspiring to become a fashion designer while living with Pe-chan and the others.A total of 42 episodes were broadcast starting on June 5、 1982、 every Saturday from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m.The original plan of Tonde Monpe was created by Tokyo Movie (current TMS Entertainment) as its first production in two years since Mu no Hakugei. The animated version was created first、 and Kaoru Imai later turned it into a comic. |
