Synopsis
Batten RobomaruThe story is set in a mysterious place called Karinto New Town where humans and robots live in harmony.One day, an unidentified flying object comes flying from the sky, carrying on it a strange roundish robot.The robot is Robomaru, who has come from the planet Manmaru.Robomaru left his planet to prevent a war that was going on in space, but on the way he got lost. Not only that, but his ship was hit by a homerun ball hit by Nanako Umino, a young girl from a baseball club, forcing the robot to make a crash landing on Earth.Robomaru’s UFO is damaged due to the crash landing. After an unexpected turn of events, Robomaru is found by Nanako and is taken to stay with the caring Umino family.Unable to return to his home planet Manmaru, he serves as a self-appointed superhero through the people he meets.Whenever trouble occurs, Robomaru rushes to the scene. The first thing he says every time is, “No violence, please!” He goes on to tackle numerous mysterious cases that happen in Karinto New Town.Batten Robomaru is a tokusatsu series for children that was created by Toei Animation and aired on the Fuji TV network from 1982 to 1983.The series is based on a manga by Shotaro Ishinomori, who is known for developing a number of tokusatsu stories such as Kamen Rider and Android Kikaider. It was the second installment of the Toei Fushigi Comedy series that was centered around home drama. The series’ original, anything-goes, surreal story garnered it a lot of popularity.
