Synopsis
Kidou Keiji Jiban, The Mobile Cop JibanThe criminal syndicate Bioron led by Dr. Giba is secretly active around the world. It begins maneuvering to take over humanity and create its own empire.Dr. Giba sends Bionoids to launch an assault on Central City. These Bionoids are combat bio-lifeforms created by Dr. Giba. Naoto Tamura, a young detective at the Central Police Department, comes across a young girl named Mayumi Igarashi and her grandfather Dr. Igarashi who is a scientist. Naoto fights the Bionoids to save Mayumi and Dr. Igarashi. However, Naoto dies due to a wound he gets from the fight. Dr. Igarashi is mortally wounded too, but he gathers his last strength to save Naoto who saved his granddaughter. The doctor chooses Naoto as a subject for his Jiban Project, performs an operation to bring Naoto back to life, and transforms him into a human with cyborg capabilities.Thanks to the doctor’s efforts, Naoto gains a new life. He has become Mobile Cop Jiban, a shiny silver cyborg warrior with a strong mechanical body and great combat powers.Using the Jiban powers left to him by Dr. Igarashi, Naoto joins the struggle against Bioron minions to protect Central City and its people.The Mobile Cop Jiban was created by Toei as the 8th installment of the tokusatsu Metal Hero Series. It aired on the TV Asahi network from January 1989 to January 1990.Jiban was inspired by the American movie RoboCop, in which a police officer is revived with a mechanical body and combats criminal organizations.
