Synopsis
Docchi ga Docchi! (Which is which!)Ririka Saito, a sentimental girl living in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, lived a peaceful life with her family. In contrast, her complete opposite was Jun Furuya, a mischievous boy who lived with his father. Although both were sixth grade students at Minamisaka Elementary School, one day they ran away from home because of respective family issues. On that very day, Jun witnessed a magician, who had been scheduled to perform in a magic show, having his bag stolen by delinquent junior high school students, and ended up being chased by them. Ririka, who happened to be present at the scene, escaped along with him. While running away, they lost their footing and tumbled down a hill. When they awoke, they felt uncomfortable with their bodies; surprisingly, they had swapped bodies. Unable to return to normal, they begin their new lives living as one another within their respective families. In this context, their completely opposite personalities initially led to repeated clashes, but as they come to understand each other, they build trust and begin to tackle their own family issues. Then, they start searching for a way to return to their original bodies in order to go back to their rightful places. The series aired from October to December 2002 as part of NHK’s Drama Ai no Uta (Drama: Poem of Love), a series for children that ran from 1991 to 2005. The magician, a key character in the story, was played by the popular entertainer and magician Maggie Shiro, which garnered public attention. The drama is based on the novel Ore ga Aitsu de Aitsu ga Ore de (I am Her and She is Me) by children's author Hisashi Yamanaka, however, only the concept and setting were used, and most of the characters were original creations specifically developed for this drama.
