Synopsis

Eko Eko Azaraku ~Manako~ (Eko Eko Azaraku ~Eye~)Misa Kuroi, who wields black magic, was wandering the streets of Tokyo with no memory of the past year. In a Tokyo filled with curses, mysterious incidents occur one after another, and Misa finds herself drawn into these cases, eventually bringing a resolution to them. Meanwhile, Tagami, a private investigator, encounters Misa while searching for a growing number of missing persons. He notices a girl with the same face as Misa’s on his list of the disappeared, but her name is recorded as Chisa Yomoda. As Tagami pursues the disappeared and investigates incidents, he begins to investigate Misa’s identity. Eventually, the two discover that a starlet named Hiromi Yamanaka is linked to the bizarre events occurring in Tokyo. Behind her brilliant transition from a starlet to a reporter, Yamanaka seeks to bring down Tokyo using her evil eye. To halt her ambitions, Misa collaborates with Tagami and his allies to finally corner Yamanaka. This TV drama is based on the horror manga series Eko Eko Azarak by Shinichi Koga, which was serialized in the magazines Weekly Shonen Champion, Monthly Shonen Champion, and Monthly Susperia, starting in 1975. Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, it aired on TV Tokyo from January 6 to March 30, 2004, and on TV Osaka from January 10 to April 3, 2004. As the second TV adaptation of the series, it featured an entirely new cast and a different storyline while maintaining the original's basic concept. Additionally, the age of Misa was changed from a junior high school student in the previous series to a senior high school student in this series.
