Synopsis

Pita Pan no Boken, Peter Pan & WendyWendy and her little brothers live in London. In one of their dreams, they are attacked by pirates led by Captain Hook but are saved by a boy named Peter Pan.Wendy and her brothers want to meet Peter Pan in real life. One night, Peter Pan appears before them, but his shadow gets bitten off by the family’s dog.Peter Pan has a hard time catching his shadow that moves around freely. Wendy sews the shadow back on Peter Pan, and the two are befriended.Wendy and her brothers learn how to fly from Peter Pan and embark on an adventure to Neverland, the wonderland where Peter Pan lives.In Neverland, they meet Peter Pan’s younger brothers, as well as his companions Curly, Tootles, Slightly, and Tinkerbell the fairy, and they all live in a house on top of a tree. However, Captain Hook’s pirate gang raids the house.The children join forces in the fight with Captain Hook, but then a witch called Darkness joins the enemy, leading to the onset of a battle for Neverland’s very survival.Peter Pan, Wendy, and the other companions work together to defeat Captain Hook and Darkness, thus restoring peace to Neverland.Peter Pan & Wendy was created by Nippon Animation as the 15th installment of the World Masterpiece Theater, with 41 episodes airing in 1989.Although the series is based on Peter Pan and Wendy by James Matthew Barrie, the section after the appearance of Darkness was an original story added by the anime production team.
